If you’ve been curious about sea moss gel but scared off by the taste — I was too. I finally tried it, the Biolore Mango Pineapple gel, and the fishy taste I was dreading just isn’t there. Mixed into yogurt, you can’t taste it at all.
Why I finally tried it
I’ve heard about all the benefits of sea moss for a long time, but I never tried it because I was scared of the taste. I’m not a seafood guy, and I’d never even tasted sea moss before. The guys at Biolo sent me a bottle, so I figured it was time to find out for myself.
What’s in the bottle
This is a fresh 8 oz bottle, mango pineapple flavor. Good trial size — before you go buy a big bottle, this lets you try it and see what you think. The safety seal was on tight, which is a good sign.
Does it taste fishy?
No. That’s the big one, and the answer is no. I smelled it first — nothing fishy. Then I tasted it straight off the spoon, and honestly I was expecting my gag reflex to kick in. It didn’t. It’s not bad at all.
What’s the texture like?
It’s a gel — kind of like baby food. Smooth, not chunky. Nothing weird about it.
How do you take it?
The label says 2 tablespoons a day. I mixed two tablespoons into Greek yogurt, stirred it in good, and tasted it — all I tasted was the yogurt. A lot of people blend it into shakes, and from what I’ve read, it just goes right down that way too.
Does it need to be refrigerated?
Yes — keep it in the fridge once it’s opened. General guidance for sea moss gel is a couple of weeks in the fridge once opened, longer unopened. Go by the date on your jar, and if it ever smells sour or looks off, toss it.
What about the minerals everyone’s talking about?
You’ll see people online say sea moss has 92 of the 102 trace minerals your body needs. I’m going to be straight with you: I’m not a doctor or a nutritionist. I’m just a guy trying to stay healthy. I can’t verify that number — but it’s the reason I was curious enough to try it in the first place.
One thing to know
This is a first-taste review, not a 30-day results review. I can tell you the taste is a non-issue and I’ll keep using it daily — but if you’re looking for long-term results, that’s going to take longer than one video.
My verdict
If the taste is what’s been holding you back from sea moss, stop worrying. This goes down easy in yogurt, there’s no fishy taste, and the 8 oz bottle is the right size to find out if it’s for you. Thumbs up from me. My name is Rich, this is BuySmart Daily — and remember, go buy smart.
