I Wrote a Kids’ Book: Acorn’s Halloween Coloring & Activity Book

Something different from me today. I wrote a children’s book — and it’s live on Amazon right now.

Watch: inside the book

I made a quick video showing the pages — here’s what you’re getting:

What is it? Acorn’s Halloween — a 30-page coloring and activity book starring Acorn the Bear. Coloring pages, mazes, word searches, and puzzles, made for kids ages 4 to 8.

Who’s it for? Kids 4 to 8, parents and grandparents hunting for screen-free Halloween fun, and teachers who need classroom activities that actually keep little hands busy.

Where do I get it? It’s live on Amazon — the link’s below.

Is there more coming? Yes. This is book one of the Acorn the Bear holiday series — Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year are next.

Why I made it

Honestly? I wanted to make something fun that gets kids off screens for a while. Coloring books were a big deal when I was coming up, and there’s something about a kid with crayons and a page that a tablet just doesn’t replace.

Acorn’s the little bear I created for it — and Halloween felt like the right place to start. Kids love Halloween, and parents always need activities for parties, classrooms, and rainy October days.

What’s inside

Thirty pages of cute-spooky Halloween scenes to color — Acorn trick-or-treating, haunted houses, pumpkins, the fun kind of spooky, nothing scary. The lines are big and bold so little hands can actually stay inside them.

Mixed in with the coloring pages are mazes, word searches, and puzzles, so it’s not just coloring — there’s stuff to solve, too. Good for Halloween parties, classroom treats, road trips, and quiet time at home.

The series

This is book one. Thanksgiving is next, then Christmas, then New Year — the whole holiday run. If your kids like this one, there’ll be more coming right behind it.

Ways to use it this October

  • Halloween parties: set the book out with a cup of crayons and let kids color while they wait on games or food. Keeps little hands busy without a screen.
  • Classrooms: works for morning work, early finishers, or a calm-down activity after recess.
  • Trick-or-treat bags: toss one in instead of more candy. Parents will thank you.
  • Grandparents: if you’re hunting for an easy gift that isn’t junk, this is it.
  • Rainy days and road trips: thirty pages buys a lot of quiet time.

Quick questions

What ages is it for?

Ages 4 to 8. The coloring lines are big and bold for little hands, and the mazes and word searches give the older ones something to chew on.

How many pages?

Thirty — coloring pages mixed with mazes, word searches, and puzzles.

Crayons or markers?

Crayons are the safe bet. Markers will bleed through the page, so slide a sheet of paper behind it if your kid insists on markers.

Is it scary?

Nope. Cute-spooky — pumpkins, costumes, Acorn trick-or-treating. Nothing that causes bad dreams.

Can I see inside before I buy?

Yes — watch the video above. I flip through the pages so you know exactly what you’re getting.
